Licensed Architect/Project Director

Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS)
Certified Green Professional (CGP)

A seasoned professional with an impressive combination of creative, communication, and leadership skills, Jim brings decades of relevant experience in the design build remodeling industry to his role as Project Director for Jackson Design and Remodeling. Jim combines his strong command of architecture with a depth of knowledge gathered over years designing hundreds of homes to guide clients through the initial phases of a project with Jackson Design and Remodeling. Jim meets one-on-one with clients to establish a collaborative and personal work relationship, introduces the Jackson Design and Remodeling team and the company’s comprehensive design build services, and helps clients visualize how JDR works to transform their homes. He leads clients to a clear understanding of the remodeling process, helps them articulate their needs and desires for a new space, and works with clients and the design team to coordinate a project’s initial design phase.

Jim is a native of Phoenix, AZ, where he owned an architectural firm for five years before moving to San Diego in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Before joining Jackson Design and Remodeling, Jim worked for nineteen years at another large remodeling firm, where he practiced his skills as an In-house Architect and worked for ten years as General Manager. He was drawn to the innovative design principles and customer service responsiveness at JDR. Jim is dedicated to community service, particularly as a member of the San Diego Rotary Club 33, and has been published locally as an architect.
